Syria The Arab Bread Basket
Syria is surprisingly enough the bread basket of the Middle East just as much as Rome was once the bread basket to the world. Yemen, Jordan and Egypt have all been suffering from a wheat shortage and Bashar al-Assad is responding by giving an obscene amount of wheat. Egypt alone will receive 176 Thousand tons.
A charitable display from al-Assad while leaders from all three of these countries roast him publicly on a regular basis.
